082V11103-0003 ,Anti-Surge Valve
The anti-surge valve is a key safety component in truck turbocharging systems. Its main function is to prevent the "surging" phenomenon in the turbocharger, thereby protecting the turbocharger from damage.
Functions:Compressor Surge
When a truck driver suddenly releases the accelerator pedal (e.g., during hard braking or gear shifting), the throttle valve closes instantaneously. At this moment, the turbocharger's compressor is still rotating at high speed and continues pumping air toward the throttle valve, but the forward passage is blocked. This high-pressure airflow has nowhere to go, leading to "backflow" and severe turbulence at the compressor blades, producing a "whooshing" or "puffing" abnormal noise—this is "compressor surge."
The intense airflow shock generated by surge can severely damage the compressor blades, causing the turbocharger to fail and even leading to a significant drop in engine power.
